Our team works well together to provide the best medicine to our patients. Our highly trained team believes that your pet deserves compassionate care for all their veterinary issues. We strive to exceed our clients’ expectations by treating owners and their pets with the respect, honesty, and compassion that they deserve. We will always remember we are the advocates for the animals and promise to treat all pets as if they were our own.
Dr. Tasha Small grew up in Henry County and graduated from Napoleon High School in 2002. From there, she went on to the University of Findlay to earn her Bachelor of Science degree, and then she completed her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine coursework from The Ohio State University and graduated in 2011.
Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Tasha joined Dr. Pat at Pondview Veterinary Clinic working with large, small, and exotic animal species. Dr. Tasha worked alongside Dr. Pat until he was ready to retire and then purchased Pondview in July of 2018.
Dr. Tasha and her husband, Mark, live in Archbold with their 3 children; Kenzie, Kase, and Keaston. They have 5 large dogs and 3 cats inside as well as 2 outside cats.
In her free time, Dr. Tasha enjoys spending time with her family. The Small family enjoys camping, swimming, riding recreational vehicles, and just about any outdoor activity
Dr. Emily Gearig has been a member of the Pondviewteam since June 2012. Dr. Emily was born and raised on her family’s farm in Iowa raising horses, Hereford cattle, and maintaining a commercial sheep herd with her siblings as part of their FFA SAE projects. Her undergraduate degree was ascertained in 2007 from Northwest MissouriState University in Maryville, Missouri, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Pre-Veterinary AnimalScience with a Biochemistry minor.
Dr. Emily then went on to earn her Doctor of VeterinaryMedicine in 2011 from Iowa StateUniversity College of Veterinary Medicine where her focus was primarily on internal medicine and soft tissue surgery. Upon completion, she spent her first year in practice at a mixed animal practice in Topeka, Indiana before moving to PondviewVeterinary Clinic in 2012 under the tutelage of Dr. Pat Dougherty.
In practice, Dr. Emily takes a special interest in soft tissue surgery and small animal internal medicine. In 2018, she became certified in VeterinarySpinal Manipulative Therapy through the accredited Healing Oasis Wellness Center in Racine, Wisconsin.
Dr. Emily enjoys family time with her husband, their three kids, and their dogs. Her husband and she spend the fall time hunting upland birds across the Midwest. She also enjoys sewing and reading, though it is mostly via Audible these days.
