Pondview Veterinary Clinic was founded in June of 1990 by Dr. Patrick Dougherty. His passion for veterinary medicine goes without saying. Being a native of Michigan, Dr. Pat decided to retire to the Petosky area and sold Pondview to Dr. Tasha Small in July of 2018. Dr. Tasha had been working for Dr. Pat for nearly seven years before purchasing the clinic. She hopes to continue the great medicine Pondview has always offered. The Pondview staff always strives to give your pet that personalized care it deserves.
Pondview is located in Archbold Ohio and offers a full-service veterinary clinic in a hometown setting. Although, most patients visiting Pondview are small animal species, Pondview offers care to both large animal and exotic species as well. Our staff is always willing to share its veterinary knowledge with younger members of the community through 4-H, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Preschools and Elementary schools. Pondview provides its clients with a newly remodeled facility as well as state of the art equipment and service. Pondview has four veterinarians and a superior support staff. At Pondview, we treat your pets as if they were our own and we always provide a level of service and care you can feel comfortable with.
Meet our Veterinarians
Upon graduation from veterinary school, Dr. Tasha joined Dr. Pat at Pondview Veterinary Clinic working with large, small and exotic animal species. Here she really enjoys all the various aspects of her job; reproduction, surgery, pocket pets and large animals (especially goats and cows) are among some of her favorite.
Dr. Tasha and her husband, Mark, live in Archbold with their daughter, Kenzie. The three of them share their house with three large dogs, three cats and a school of fish. In her free time, Dr. Tasha likes to scrapbook, ride ATVs, dabble in carpentry and play outdoor sports.
Dr. Emily Gearig has been member of our team since June 2012. She attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri as a Presidential Scholar where she earned a Bachelor degree in Animal Science, Pre-veterinary Option. Dr. Emily then went on to earn her DVM in 2011 from Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. In addition to her clinical endeavors, Dr. Emily maintains active membership with the American Veterinary Medicine Association, Ohio Veterinary Medicine Association and Toledo Veterinary Medicine Association. Currently, Dr. Emily is working on her certification in veterinary spinal manipulation therapy. She is expected to complete her certification and become a Fellow of the College of Animal Chiropractors in June.
In addition to veterinary medicine, Dr. Emily enjoys spending time with her family as a mom and wife. She and her husband enjoy upland bird hunting with their two German Shorthaired Pointers, Deuce and King. Dr. Emily also enjoys attending draft horse shows to spend time with her extended family.
